Another CO2 Map!
May 20, 2008 – 4:25 pmClick here. Just do it. Then thank James Mills for finding it.
The “it” in question, if you weren’t inclined to click, is another really cool map that shows CO2 emissions. This one tracks emissions as well as births and deaths in real time for every country in the world. If you hover over a country, you see its relevant statistics. The longer you get sucked in by the whirring, the more CO2 adds up.
“Breathing Earth” was put together by a Polish-Australian university student named David Bleja who lives in Melbourne, Australia. He’s studying Digital and Media Arts.
If you need a refresher on how this relates to the campaign: global warming. The fact of which, for the first time, will go undisputed in the general election.
According to the map, the world has produced about 200,000 tonnes of CO2 while I’ve been writing this post.
