John McCain appears to be narrowing the field of potential running mates. A handful — including Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal — will be visiting with McCain in Arizona this weekend. Jindal is 36 and was born to parents who had just immigrated from India. The chatter suggests he’d be seen as a foil for Obama’s youthful “post-racial” allure.

Greg, a 40-something world-history teacher in Seabrook, TX, admires Governor Jindal. He believes he has “more relevant and credible experience to qualify him for the White House than does Barack Obama, a man a decade his senior.” But he’s not so keen on seeing Jindal as McCain’s pick. Thanks to volunteer curator Roshan Abraham for finding this one:

I’d rather wait four years to see him on the national ticket, after he has successfully cleaned up the problems and corruption that piled up during decades of Democrat misrule in Louisiana. That state needs help — and Bobby Jindal has made a great start towards fixing it. But with less than a year as governor to his credit, it seems like a place on the national ticket is coming a bit too early — but I’d be fired up and ready to support him in the event of his selection.

It would be interesting to know how Louisianans come down on the potential loss of their new governor. Hey we should check the blogosphere.
