Democracy in Action

Thirteen-year-old Page Traeger is a student in San Jose who likes William Steig, going to the beach, and Led Zeppelin. She also confesses an addiction to photography; she takes her camera everywhere and says, “It it like my child.” This picture marks her reaction to November 4th. And yes, she’s aware of the missing “c” in the right-hand column.

Sticking with the theme of democracy: Trentretro thinks it’s just possible that this Message for Obama might actually make it to the president-elect. S/he’s hopeful, anyway, since Obama does have a Flickr account. S/he’d like Barack to remember that democracy doesn’t always have to be a popularity contest:

Trentretro or someone else has also added a Flickr “note” over the envelope’s recycled-paper logo. It says, “P.S. please try and remember to recycle too!”

  2. Wow, that 13-year-old’s got some talent, and it’s cool to see someone so young already politically involved. Keep it up, Page!
