Up for grabs on Sunday: the 63 Democratic delegates from Puerto Rico. Eliina from Chicago just spent a long weekend in San Juan with her boyfriend Josh. In addition to waterfalls and local vistas, they sampled some of the primary build-up. This poster, for example, in the window of the ...

Vlogger verticalpolitics believes John McCain has said some stupid things during the campaign that deserve to be taken on. McCain's "100 years in Iraq" comment, however, isn't one of them. That remark, says verticalpolitics, has been twisted and taken deliberately out of context by his Democratic opponents (hat tip to ...

Sexism isn't the only wart on the Democratic primary. Obama's blackness has of course come up in blatant and derogatory ways. Also in slipperier form from the Clinton campaign: after Hillary won in Indiana, West Virginia, and Kentucky and brandished her white support, she was accused by many of playing ...

This genius composition by victoriabernal needs minimal introduction: There are some pink rabbit peeps who live in Los Angeles. They like Obama. (James Mills found them.)
[victoriabernal / Flickr]
You may disagree with the peeps's politics, but in most ways they're just like you and me: They make coffee. (Sometimes it turns ...

Libertarians held their nominating convention last weekend in Denver, CO. They picked, as their candidate, former Georgia Republican representative Bob Barr. Apparent Libertarian Carlos attended the convention and recorded the scene on the floor:

Much of the post-convention talk seems to center on whether or not Barr ...

For the presidential candidates, Memorial Day was an opportunity to talk about Iraq. It's less clear that Wijadi had a specific message about this war when he joined a number of other Flickrites for a walk through Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. But intentional or not, the light ...

This funny, silly original tune will strike home if you took a roadtrip over Memorial Day (thanks, Sue Salinger). It's about gas prices and why they're so high -- a crowd-pleasing topic at any campaign event. The musicians, Rhett and Link, are boyhood pals from North Carolina; they've been writing ...

Even if you're an Obamamaniac, the angel wings in this photo may seem a little over the top -- but the graffiti is on an old sewage drain, so maybe that balances things out. However you read it, it's a great picture, no? PixelHoundSF took it somewhere in the Bay ...

If you type "torture" plus "election" into Google News today, nothing much comes up. "Interrogation" plus "election" doesn't yield much either. This is puzzling, since America's interrogation tactics arguably affect its reputation profoundly. You'd think this might be more of an issue on the campaign trail.
Torture/interrogation plain and simple, though ...

School's almost over. You still looking for summer employment? Rachel from Illinois recorded this flyer on the UC Berkeley campus (thanks Ann Raber):

Rachel figures Berkeley will serve up plenty of applicants for the Obama and Clinton campaigns. McCain, however, might also want to look elsewhere for summer ...

Bobby Jindal [Marc V. Genre / Flickr]
John McCain appears to be narrowing the field of potential running mates. A handful -- including Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal -- will be visiting with McCain in Arizona this weekend. Jindal is 36 and was born to parents who had just immigrated from India. ...

With Obama edging towards a declaration of victory in the wake of the Oregon and Kentucky primaries, it seemed the right time to feature this photo (found by Sue Salinger). Either the shopkeeper has a wicked sense of humor or customer demand is actually following the delegate trend:

A hilarious send-up of the relevance of Obama's connection to former Weather Underground member William Ayers -- which both Clinton and McCain have tried to highlight. Found, for you, by Sarolta Cump:
Could a candidate get away with wearing any of those?

The "it" in question, if you weren't inclined to click, is another really cool map that shows CO2 emissions. This one tracks emissions as well as births and deaths in real time for every country in the ...

Speaking of sexist remarks (perceived or real) about Clinton, this video, found by PRXer John Barth, takes a thorough look at some of the headlines, quotes, and images that Hillary Clinton has had to deal with in her bid for the presidency. A lot of it may seem familiar -- ...

Gary R. Welsh, an Indianapolis lawyer, doesn't buy the standard line that Barack Obama floats largely free of the fray of negative campaigning. He recognizes that dirt is part of politics, but he's annoyed that "Obama has been presented with this aura of being above the politics of personal destruction ...

Lisa Nova makes videos. A lot of videos. Some of them are about the campaign, and they're clever. Up first, via Sue Salinger, a sharp parody of the last scene of Sunset Boulevard, with Clinton in the Norma Desmond role:
Nova plays lots of different characters in her videos; in this ...

Oregon Democrats as far away as Melbourne, Australia, have been preparing for tomorrow's primary (hat tip to Ann Raber). Back home in the thick of it, an Obama supporter going to a rally in Medford, Oregon, found artist Remy LeDuc's Obama sign on a blog. The guy in Oregon printed ...

Tomorrow is Kentucky's (and Oregon's) chapter in the Democratic primary saga. Iris, who works on webby stuff for a public library in Paducah, Kentucky, was really excited to go to a Clinton rally in nearby Mayfield. There she spotted this truck reflecting the crowd:
